Mairen Chard Swims Her Way to the OSAA State Meet

Mairen lead the way for the Canby Cougars at the Three Rivers District meet.  She finished 4th in the 100 fly (1:00.42) and 6th in the 100 back (1:00.66) moving her on to the state meet. She is seated 14th and 16th going into the meet and hopes to better her time and place moving her into the finals.

Canby Cougars also had several other swimmers earning points individually at the district meet. Connor DeRisio finished 12th in the 200 IM and 4th in the 100 fly 59.98.  Hunter DeRisio was 8th in the 100 back. Thomas Diggles finished 12th in the 100 free and 5thin the 50 free (23.90). Kira Goepferd swam to 10th in the 100 back. Jack Hayhurst finished 11th in the 100 back. Brandon Slater was 7th in the 100 fly.  Jordan Spencer finished in 5th in the 200 IM (2:08.75) and 4th in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.71). Bjorn Laitinen earned a 10th in the 200 IM and 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke (1:03.71).

The top relay team for Canby Cougars was 4th in the Men’s 200 Medley Relay of Jack Hayhurst, Bjorn Laitinen, Connor DeRisio and Thomas Diggles with a time of 1:49.45.

Canby Finished 8th for the Girls and 5th For the boys.
